People
People holds your Profile, your DID and your contacts. It has three pages: People, Profile and Public.
Create your Profile
- Open People and go to Profile.
- Enter a Display name and select Create Profile.
- You now see Your DID. Select Copy to share it.
Your Profile is also created when you first save your Recovery Kit.
Add a contact
Get their DID
Ask the person for their DID. You can also select Copy DID on their profile card in Chat, or select a DID in a message to open Add by DID.
Send a request
In People, choose Add by DID, paste the DID and select Send request. This works even if they are not listed in Public.
Wait for them to accept
They see the request in their Inbox and choose Accept or Decline. A request waits up to 24 hours for their Home to come online.
A contact can show Request sent, Not delivered, Online now or Offline. Select Message to start a direct chat, or Remove to remove them.
Public
Public lists your Profile so other Community members can find you. It is off by default. Turn it on or off on the Public page. You do not need Public to add someone by DID.
- If you decline someone, your Home ignores their requests for 7 days. You can still ask them.
- If People says Some requests can’t be delivered yet, ask the other person to update, or turn on Public on both Homes.
- Anyone who has your DID can send you one contact request, even when you are not in Public.
