Install

The installer says my computer is not supported. ElastOS 2.0.0 installs on Macs with Apple silicon and on 64-bit Linux (x86_64 or ARM64). Intel Macs and native Windows are not supported. See Windows.

On a Mac, a window asks to install Command Line Tools. Select Install in Apple’s window. The ElastOS installer continues by itself when they are installed. If it stops, run xcode-select --install, wait for it to finish, then run the install command again.

The elastos command is not found. Open a new terminal. The installer adds one line to your login profile so the command is found after a restart.

Home says another program uses port 8090. Home needs port 8090 and does not start while another program uses it. Close that program and start Home again with elastos home --browser.

Sign-in

My passkey is not offered, or sign-in fails.

• Open http://localhost:8090/home/ exactly. A passkey made on localhost does not work on 127.0.0.1 or a network address.
• The lock screen says why sign-in failed. Read the message.
• If you have lost every passkey, see Data and backup.

I lost my unsaved document. Unsaved Documents edits are lost when your sign-in ends after 12 hours without Home running. Turn on Autosave in Documents.

Community and messages

Chat says Community unreachable. Home usually reconnects by itself within minutes, also after a network change. If Chat says Community can’t connect. Restart Home to reconnect., restart Home.

A direct message stays on Sending. Direct messages need a direct connection between both Homes, which some networks block. Restart either Home. A message that cannot be delivered for 24 hours shows Expired.

My contact request shows Not delivered. The other Home may be offline or on an older version. A request waits up to 24 hours. Ask the person to update, or turn on Public on both Homes.

Setup and updates fail to connect. ElastOS needs outgoing UDP to port 4433. Some office and public networks block it. Try another network.

Models

Marketplace says Needs more memory, or the model does not start. Close other Apps, or choose SmolLM2 135M Instruct, which needs much less memory than Qwen2.5 1.5B Instruct.

The model says it opened a file or a website. It did not. Models in 2.0.0 cannot read files, open websites or send messages.

Updates

After elastos update, Home is stopped. This is a known issue. Start Home with elastos home --browser.

System says the update needs the install command. Run the install command it shows. Your Home keeps your data.

Home is stuck after an update. Follow Recover an interrupted update. Do not delete or move any files.

Browser

I do not see Browser. Browser runs only on Macs with Apple silicon. If setup found too little disk space for its download, free some space and run elastos setup again.
